Fee Deposition Procedure
After confirmation of selection/admission at Career Point, you may deposit the course fee in any of the following mode
At the Fee Deposition Counter in the institute premises
- You may deposit the fee by Demand Draft or Pay Order in the institute’s bank account at Bank Counter situated inside the institute premises through standard fee deposition challan available in our office.
- Please note that cheque (local or outstation) / cash will not be accepted.
By Post
- You may deposit the fee by post using bank Demand Draft of any Nationalised Bank.
- The Demand Draft should be A/c payee & drawn in favour of ‘Career Point’ payable at ‘Kota (Rajasthan)’.
- The student must write his/her Name; Father’s Name and CP Entrance Test Roll Number or Application form Number on the backside of Demand Draft.
- The student should send the DD by Registered Post/Courier immediately to the institute so that it reaches us on or before the last date of fee deposition.
- The Demand Draft may be faxed (0744-3040050) to the institute for faster communication. However, in such a case the admission will be on temporary basis. The confirmation of admission is subjected to the receipt of Demand Draft in original.
- Student must keep photocopy of Demand Draft for future reference.
Anywhere in India directly in Institute’s State Bank of India (SBI) account
- You may directly deposit the fee in Career Point’s Account at any branch of the SBI (State Bank of India) banks all over India in Account No. 30589562818 by Demand Draft or Pay Order or in cash.
- To deposit the fee into SBI bank anywhere in India, student must use standard fee deposition challan given to you along with application kit. It can also be downloaded from our website.
- The student must write his/her Name; Father’s Name and CP Entrance Test Roll No. or application form number on fee deposition challan clearly.
- After fee deposition, student must send photocopy of the Institute Copy of the Bank challan either by Fax or by Registered Post/Courier immediately to the institute so that it reaches us on or before the last date of fee deposition.
- You will have to produce the institute copy & student copy of fee deposition challan at our admission office on the day of your reporting to the institute.
Important Guidelines
- We would advise that you must deposit the fee either directly in our bank account or through Demand draft to avoid any kind of risk involved in cash handling during your travel. Please note that we do not accept any cheque.
- The students are advised to deposit the fee as per the schedule given in this booklet on fee chart page and through any of the above-mentioned mode to avoid any sort of inconvenience at later stage.
- Any deviation in fee payment from the prescribed schedule will lead to cancellation (in case of First Installment) and termination (in case of Second Installment) of admission.
Service Tax & Education Cess:
Present rate of Service Tax & Education cess is 10.30%. Any change in rate of service tax during the course period will be borne by the student.

NTSE
Selection procedure
Selection
There will be two-stage selection process for award of scholarship. For Stage I, selection will be done by States/UTs through a written examination. Students, who qualify Stage- I, will be eligible to appear for Stage- II examination, conducted by NCERT.
Reservation
15% scholarships will be reserved for students belonging to the SC category, 7.5% scholarships for students belonging to the ST category and 3% for ST Physically Challenged Group of Students.
Eligibility
All students of Class X studying in recognized schools are eligible to appear for the Stage -I examination, conducted by the States/UTs, in which the schools are located. There will be no domicile restriction.
State level examination
The state level examination has two parts for nominating the required number of candidates for the second level test to be conducted by the NCERT.
- Part-I:Mental Ability Test (MAT), and
- Part-II: Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT)
National level examination
Candidates acquiring more than the required percentage in the state level examination and standing within a specified number of top ranks (state quota) are eligible to appear for the national level examination (about top 3000 students from the entire country). NCERT conducts the National Level NTS each year in the 2nd week of May. The national level examination has two parts for nominating the required number of candidates for the interviews to be conducted by the NCERT in July/August
- Part-I:Mental Ability Test (MAT), and
It is usually conducted on 2nd Sunday in May. For NTSE 2013, National Level Exam will be conducted on 12th May 2013.
Interview
The Interview used to be conducted. It required confidence etc. However, there will be no interview in NTSE 2013.
Syllabus
There is no Prescribed syllabus for the NTSE examination. However, the standard of items conforms to the level of CBSE Class X Public Examinations. Also, parts of classes VIII and IX are also included especially in Sciences and mathematics, wherein one is expected to have a sound knowledge of the things already learnt at lower classes. Several guides are also published by various publishers to aid NTSE aspirants.

Note: Qualifying marks do not imply that any student securing above the cut-off will qualify for the next level. It simply means that this is the minimum qualifying marks NCERT is looking for. Selection will depend upon the rank of the candidate.
In NTSE first stage, there are 90 questions in 90 minutes in SAT and MAT each. In first stage there is no interview. However, the patern varies from state to state.
The students who qualify all the stages of NTSE successfully are eligible for Rebate. The amount of Rebate has been enhanced to Rs. 500/- per month for all the students studying in Class X onwards except for Ph.D., wherein it is paid according to UGC norms. The older system of book grant has been removed. The criterion of parental income for deciding payment of Rebate has also been discontinued
International Junior Science Olympiad
The International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO) is a competitive examination open to students of all countries in the world, primarily studying in secondary schools. All basic subjects of Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics) are given roughly equal representation in the IJSO examination.
The Junior Science Olympiad program follows the following 5 stages :
Stage-I
National Standard Examination in Junior Science (NSEJS) :
NSEJS is the first stage of selection of students in the Junior Science Olympiad Programme NSEJS is organised by the Indian Association of Physics T eachers (IAPT). Every student aspiring to go through successive stages of the programme must enroll for NSEJS. NSEJS is held at a large number of centres in the country in Month of November every year.
Eligibility : All Indian students who are born on or after January 1, 1996 and in addition are in Class X or lower as of November 30, 2010 are eligible to appear in NSEJS 2010.
Syllabus : The syllabus for NSEJS is broadly equivalent to the secondary school level (u The syllabus for NSEJS is broadly equivalent to the secondary school level (upto Class X) of CBSE. This is only a broad guideline, and there is no detailed syllabus given for NSEJS.
Stage-2
Indian National Junior Science Olympiad (INJSO
Eligibility : Based on performance in NSEJS, the top 300 students in order of merit qualify to appear for the Second Stage of the Olympiad programme INJSO , which helds in the month of January every year. In case there is a tie at the last position in NSEJS, all students with the same marks at this last position qualify for INJSO.
Stage-3
Orientation Cum Selection Camp (OCSC) in Junior Science :
OCSC in Junior Science is organise by HBCSE sometime in April to June every year for 2-3 weeks. Only the students selected from the merit list of Stage II will be eligible for OCSC in Junior Science. There is no other criterion or provision. The top 6 in the OCSC Junior Science merit list are declared as special merit awardees. These special merit awardees are given Rs. 5,000 each in the form of books and cash. In addition, there are special prizes to recognize meritorious performance in theory and experiments.
Stage-4
Pre-departure T raining (PDT) Camp for IJSO : The selected 6 member student team undergo a rigorous training programme at HBCSE in theory and experiment. Special laboratories are developed at HBCSE for the purpose of experimental training. Resource persons from HBCSE and different institutions across the country train the student.
Stage-5
Participation in International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO) : The 6 member student team and 3 teacher leaders constitute the delegation to represent India at the International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO)
Examinations
The examinations consist of three separated tests, done in different days. The tests require knowledge about science of physics, chemistry and biology. The maximum score is 100 points.
Test examination
The test examination is composed of 30 multiple choice questions, 10 involving physics, 10 involving chemistry and 10 involving biology. Each of the questions has 4 alternatives. The competitor earns 1 point for each right answer, earns nothing for questions left unanswered and loses 0.25 for wrong answers. The maximum score for this test is 30 points.
Theoretical examination
The theoretical examination is made up of three parts, one for each of the subjects. Each part contains several questions about one or more topics from the respective science. The maximum score for this test is 30.
Experimental examination
The experimental examination is done in groups of up to three people of the same country, each country may have up to 2 teams. The groups should follow the instructions and answer the proposed questions. All students of the group receive the same grade. The maximum score for this test is 40 points.
Awards
After the correction of the tests, the students are ranked according to their grades. Then the top 10% students receive gold medals, the following 20% receive silver medals and the next 30% receive bronze medals.
Also, team prizes are offered to the best results at the experimental examination and the best country in the tournament. Individual prizes are offered to the best student in the theoretical examination and to the best overall. The Local Organizing Committee (LOC) is responsible for giving official participation certificates to all students, leaders and observers.

International Astronomy Olympiad
The National Astronomy Olympiad Programme is designed to encourage students with good foundations in Physics and Mathematics and an interest in Astronomy to pursue further studies in this field.
This programme is carried out only at Senior Level and follows 5 stages :-
Stage-I : National Standard Examination in Astronomy (NSEA)
NSEA is the first stage of selection of students in the Astronomy Olympiad Programme which is organized by the Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT). Every student aspiring to go through successive stages of the programme must enroll for NSEA. NSEA held at a large number of centres in the country in the month of November every year.
Eligibility : All Indian students who are born on or after January 1, 1993 and, in addition, are in Class XII or lower as of November 30, 2011, are eligible to appear for NSEA 2011 – 2012. If they qualify in the NSEA they will be eligible for subsequent stages leading to participation in International Olympiad in Astronomy and Astrophysics 2012.
Syllabus : The syllabus for NSEA (Sr. level) is broadly equivalent to the senior secondary level ( Upto Class XII) of CBSE.
There will be greater emphasis on physics and mathematics and elementary astronomy.
Paper Pattern : NSEA paper comprises 80 multiple question plus negative marking for incorrect answers.
Language : English
Stage II : Indian National Astronomy Olympiad (INAO)
Based on performance in NSEA, the top 300 students in order of merit, qualify to appear for the of INAO , which held in January every year.
Syllabus : The syllabus for INAO is broadly similar to that for NSEA with high difficulty level.
Stage III : Orientation Cum Selection Camp (OCSC) in Astronomy
The number of students to be selected for OCSC Astronomy will be 35. In the event, there is a tie at the last position, all students with the same marks at the last position will qualify for OCSC at the respective level. There will be no other criteria or provision for selection to OCSC astronomy.
The merit list of OCSC in astronomy is prepared on the basis of the aggregated test scores over all the tests in the camp, with 50% weightage for theoretical tests, 30% weightage for data analysis test and 20% weightage for observational tests. Performance in previous stages (NSEA and INAO) will not be a consideration for the merit list and awards of the OCSC astronomy.
Stage IV : Pre Departure Training (PDT) Camps for IOA and IOAA
The top 5 in the OCSC astronomy merit list will be special merit awardees and will be members of the Indian team for IOAA.
The selected Indian teams for IOAA will undergo a rigorous training programme at HBCSE in theory, data analysis and observational astronomy. Resource persons from HBCSE and different institutions across the country train the students. The duration of training will be subject to IOAA regulations
Stage V :Participation in IOA and IOAA
The 2 leaders and 1 observer (if any) for IOAA will accompany the Indian team

KVPY
The "Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana" is an ongoing program started by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, to encourage students of Basic Sciences, Engineering and Medicine to take up research careers in these areas. The aim of the program is to identify and encourage talented students with aptitude for research.
This program strives to assist the students to realise their potential and to ensure that the best scientific talent is tapped for research and development in the country. Generous Rebates are provided (up to the pre-Ph.D. level) to the selected students
Fellowship
- Rs. 4000 per month and a Rs. 16000 annual book grant for the two years of senior secondary school (+2).
- Rs. 5000 per month and a Rs. 20000 annual book grant for the three years of B.Sc.

ELIGIBILITY
These Fellowships are only for Indian Nationals studying in India.
The Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, offers attractive fellowships (Rs. 4000 to Rs. 7000 p.m) and contingency grants (Four months fellowship p.a) for students studying in Basic Sciences, Engineering and Medicine. Selection to the program takes into account academic excellence and demonstrated interest in pursuing a research career. Selection procedures are different for SP (Basic Sciences) and SP (Medicine). All of them, however, include an interview for final selection.
Basic Sciences
Stream SA: Students enrolled in the XI Standard (Science Subjects) during the academic year 2010-2011 and have secured a minimum of 75% (65% for SC/ST) marks in aggregate in MATHEMATICS and SCIENCE subjects in the X Standard Board Examination.
Stream SB+2: Students enrolled in Class 12 (+2) of the academic year 2010 - 2011 and aspiring to join undergraduate program in Basic Sciences (B.Sc/B.S./Int. M.Sc) for the session 2011 - 2012 provided they secured a minimum of 75% (65% for SC/ST) marks in aggregate in MATHEMATICS and SCIENCE subjects in the X Standard Board Examination.
Stream SB: Students enrolled in 1st year B. Sc./B.S./Int. M.Sc. during the academic year 2010–2011 and have secured a minimum of 60% (50% for SC/ST) marks in aggregate in SCIENCE subjects in the XII Standard Board Examination.
SP (Basic Sciences)
Students enrolled in XI/XII standard, I/II year (B.Sc../B.S./Int. M.Sc.) in Basic Sciences and I/II year B.E./B.Tech./B.Arch. during the academic year 2010–2011 and have secured a minimum of 60% (50% for SC/ST) marks in aggregate in the X & XII Standard Board Examinations. Students enrolled in the II year B.Sc./B.S./Int. M.Sc/B.E./B.Tech./B.Arch. program must have secured a minimum of 60% (50% for SC/ST) marks in the I year examination. A hard copy of an original and creative Science based research project done by the applicant is required to be submitted along with the application.
Note for Students applying for Stream SP (Basic Sciences)
This has been started in order to recognize and encourage creative and innovative talent of youngsters. The project done by the applicant as a part of this application must be based on a novel and innovative idea. The project can be experimental or theoretical in nature. However, the project must show that the applicant is creative and adventurous, and ready to explore. The project should not merely reflect use of certain techniques or reporting of routine experimentation, an improvement of an existing product or a technique may be accepted provided such improvement involves originality and creativity. One may try to incorporate some addition to the design or practical implementation that improves an existing technique. The main criteria that would be followed for selection for the interview would be originality and innovation. Only after these criteria are met, the level of sophistication and the nature of the project would be taken into consideration.
Medicine
Stream SP (Medicine): Students joining First / Second Professional year of MBBS program during the academic year 2010-2011. Students must have passed XII Standard Board Examination with 75% (65% for SC/ST) marks in aggregate in Science subjects or passed First Professional MBBS exam with not less than 60% (50% for SC/ST) marks. A Copy of the Bio – Medical research project is required along with the application.
Note for Students applying for Stream SP (Medicine)
KVPY application requires the report of a project, chosen and executed by the applicant and supervised by a teacher/professional in the relevant field, to be submitted along with the application. Based on the project submitted and scrutiny of application forms, short listed candidates will be called for an interview, which is the final stage of the selection procedure. The interview will be conducted at IISc., Bangalore. Application without the Bio-Medical project report will not be considered.
The project should not be a routine one (such as measuring a well known property of a material). Applicant's creativity and originality should be amply reflected in the project. The supervising teacher/professional is required to provide two recommendation letters on the form (supplied along with the application form) certifying the extent of the applicant's original contribution to the project.
SELECTION PROCEDURE
Basic Sciences (SA, SB+2(SX) and SB) After scrutiny of application forms and based on the performance in the Board Examination(s), all the eligible candidates from Streams SA, SB+2(SX) and SB have to appear for a written aptitude test (conducted both in Hindi and English). The test will be conducted at different centers across the country on 31st October 2010. The details of the venue of the aptitude tests will be put on the KVPY website in October 2010. Based on the performance in the aptitude test, candidates will be called for the interview which is the final stage of the selection procedure.
The question paper in SA Stream will be both multiple choice objective and descriptive types. In the objective type, 4 choices for the correct answer will be provided and the choice for the correct answer has to be made. In the descriptive type solution to a problem, formula for a sum, etc., has to be worked out and written. The model question paper will be put in the web sometime in September, 2010.
SP (Basic Sciences) and SP (Medicine)
KVPY applicant is required to submit the project report, chosen and executed by the candidate exclusively for this application. The projects done jointly with other candidates are not considered for KVPY Fellowship award. Applicant's creativity and originality should be amply reflected in the project. This project has to be supervised by a teacher/professional in the relevant field. Based on the project submitted and scrutiny of the application form, short listed candidates will be called for an interview, which is the final stage of the selection procedure. The interview will be conducted at IISc, Bangalore during the month of December 2010 or January 2011.
Please Note that applications without the project report will not be considered. The project should not be a routine one (such as measuring a well known property of a material) The supervising teacher / professional is required to provide a recommendation letter certifying the extent of the applicant's original contribution in the project.

International Mathematics Olympiad
The International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO, also known as the International Mathematical Olympiad) is an annual mathematics competition for high school students [IMO Article in Wikipedia]. It is one - in fact, the oldest - of the International Science Olympiads.

The usual size of an official delegation to an IMO is (a maximum of) six student competitors and (a maximum of) two leaders. There is no official ``team''. The student competitors write two papers, on consecutive days, each paper consisting of three questions. Each question is worth seven marks. (The preceding information is taken from an Overview of the IMO provided by the IMO'95 host country, Canada; also see below.) A total score of 42 points is possible. Awards are determined as follows:
- GOLD MEDAL: the top 1/12 of scores receive gold medals
- SILVER MEDAL: the next 2/12 of scores receive silver medals
- BRONZE MEDAL: the next 3/12 of scores receive bronze medals
- HONORABLE MENTION: any competitor who receives a perfect score of 7 on any one question, but who does not receive a medal, is awarded an honorable mention
A Mathematical Olympiad is a problem solving competition open to all "Mathletes". One main purpose of this activity is to support mathematical talent among high school students in the country.
The Mathematics Olympiad activity was undertaken by National Board of Higher Mathematics (NBHM) from 1986 onwards and is currently run in collaboration with the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education, Mumbai.
The Mathematics Olympiad Programme leading to participation in the International Mathematical Olympiad consists of the following stages:
Stage-1 : Regional Mathematical Olympiad (RMO) is held in each region normally between September and the first Sunday of December each year. The RMO is meant primarily for students of Class XI and XII, but currently they allow bright students of Class IX & X to appear for the RMO. As special cases, exceptionally talented students from Class VIII may be allowed to appear at the discretion of the Regional Coordinator.
Stage-2 : Indian National Mathematical Olympiad (INMO) is held in January / February each year at various centres in different regions. Only students selected on the basis of RMO from different regions are eligible to appear for INMO.
Stage-3 : International Mathematical Olympiad T raining Camp (IMOTC), On the basis of performance in INMO , the top 35 students in the merit list are selected for stage-3. All the 35 students are invited to a month long training camp (junior batch) conducted in May- June, each year. In addition, INMO awardees of the previous year that have satisfactorily gone through postal tuition throughout the year are invited again for a second round of training (senior batch).
Stage-4 : Pre-departure T raining Camp for IMO, On the basis of a number of selection tests through the Camp, a team of the best six students is selected from the combined pool of junior and senior batch participants. All the six students go through another round of training and orientation for about 10 days prior to the departure for IMO.
Stage-5 : International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), The six-member team selected at the end of the Camp accompanied by a leader and a deputy leader represent the country at the IMO, held in July each year in a different member country of IMO. IMO consists of two written tests held on two days with a gap of at least one day. Each test is of four-and-a-half-hours duration.
Awards
The participants are ranked based on their individual scores. Medals are awarded to the highest ranked participants, such that slightly less than half of them receive a medal. Subsequently the cutoffs (minimum score required to receive a gold, silver or bronze medal) are chosen such that the ratio of medals awarded approximates 1:2:3. Participants who do not win a medal but who score seven points on at least one problem get an honorable mention
Special prizes may be awarded for solutions of outstanding elegance or involving good generalisations of a problem

International Olympiad for Informatics
(IOI)
The Indian Association for Research in Computing Science (IARCS) provides leadership in computing within India. Its members are leading researchers in Computer Science drawn from major institutions from all over the country. IARCS recognizes the importance of introducing concepts from computing science in school education.
T o actively promote the subject, it has been organising the Indian Computing Olympiad annually since 2002. The goal of the Indian Computing Olympiad is to select students to take part in the International Olympiad for Informatics (IOI). IOI is one of the six prominent Science Olympiads held annually. The other five Science Olympiads are held in Mathematics, Physics,Chemistry, Biology and Astronomy. Every year 75-80 counties participate in IOI.
Eligibility
All Indian school students in Class 8 to 12 are eligible to participate, regardless of the school board they are studying under. The Examination conducted in three stages:
Stage-1 : Zonal Informatics Olympiad (ZIO)
The Zonal Informatics Olympiad is the first of the three stages of the International Olympiad for Informatics (IOI). I the country in November /December every year. ZIO is conducted in cooperation with CBSE. Applications have to be centre, through the Principal. A student has to pay nominal charges (appox Rs.100/-) towards registration process. About 250 students are selected for Stage-2.
Stage-2 : Indian National Olympiad in Informatics (INOI)
The second round, the Indian National Olympiad in Informatics (INOI) is held at centres across the country in the month of January every year. This exam involves programming. Students have to submit working computer programs as solutions to the questions asked. About 25 students are selected from INOI for the final IOI T raining Camp.
Stage-3 : International Olympiad for Informatics Training Camp
The IOI T raining Camp is held over 2 weeks in the second half of June to select the final team of four students to represent India at the International Olympiad for Informatics (IOI) in August. for Informatics (IOI) in August
Before departure to IOI, the final team goes through a month of online training At IOI, students are awarded with Gold, Silver and Bronze medals. Indian students have won several medals at IOI.
How to Participate:
Participation in ZIO is open to students from all School boards. Applications have to be sent from the schools to CBSE, through the Principal. More details will be announced on http://www.iarcs.org.in.
